Getting Ready for BBM27
September 22, 2026 · Baseline Team
How a simple idea grew into a living basketball world — and what’s next as BBM27 heads toward release.
BBM27 started as a pretty simple idea: I wanted a basketball management game with the kind of depth I always felt was missing.
Since then, the project has grown into something much bigger than I expected. Trades, scouting, contracts, player development, the draft, global leagues, tactics, the offseason — bit by bit, all of these systems have started connecting into one actual basketball world.
There’s still work to do, and I’m constantly finding things I want to improve, but this is probably the first time I’ve felt like the game is really starting to become what I originally imagined.
A lot of the next stage is about polish. Making the UI feel better, improving the simulation, fixing the weird edge cases and making sure every part of the game feels connected rather than like separate systems.
I’ll be sharing more of the development process as we get closer to release — including the things that work, the things that don’t, and some of the decisions behind how BBM27 is being built.
It’s been a long project already, but seeing everything finally come together has made me more excited about it than ever.
Thanks to everyone who’s followed the project so far. There’s a lot more to show.
